Malgrat de Mar

Malgrat de Mar Vilanova was founded in 1373.

Malgrat has traditionally been an agricultural town and has had considerable maritime trade activity and since the nineteenth century, it had a lot of industrial activity. As a result of this, it is a very diverse town which originated from a population who were mostly fishermen, miners, farmers ... However Malgrat as a tourist town did not exist until the 1960´s.

This cozy seaside town that borders Santa Susanna, is located only 60km from Barcelona, 40km from Girona and enjoys a long stretch of beach of around 7 km which is renowned for its high quality.

Malgrat de Mar is well located and within easy reach by road, highway and rail.

The town of Malgrat de Mar has a wide range of shops and restaurants which, due to its growth over time, has now been been certified as a Family Holiday Destination.
